Jill and Tracy's Stories

Tracy’s Story

It’s Tracy again! I wanted to share a bit of why I’m here sharing my nutrition expertise with you.

God designed our bodies to have babies! He created each and every one of us in a unique way and sometimes we just need a little more support preparing for and surviving pregnancy and motherhood.

About 5 years into my journey as a dietitian I was encountering so many women who weren’t being heard by their physicians. Since I hadn’t yet specialized in PCOS or anything in women’s health (other than being a woman), I was seeing a variety of women with different goals and symptoms. The general message they were receiving is that their symptoms were from hormones or age and they should just lose weight or accept the symptoms; or just take birth control to manage the hormones.

Each of us has dignity and deserves to be heard and feel good. I wasn’t okay with these women being brushed off and I definitely wasn’t ok with hormonal birth control being the only answer. So I started looking into how I could use my nutrition expertise to help women support their hormones and improve overall health and wellness specific to women. What works for men doesn’t work with women and that’s why a lot of generalized health recommendations don’t work for us. Our bodies are different!

As a mom of 5, I also know from experience how hard it can be to find time to nourish and restore ourselves.. When I help mothers with their health and wellness, I bring my knowledge along with experience to help create a plan that is workable around a busy schedule. As I mentioned in a previous email, it’s important to KISS–keep it simple, sister. And that’s what I aim to do with each and every client.

Please hit REPLY with any questions you have about your health or symptoms and be sure to refer to your free survival guide for a sample meal plan (which is one way to KISS: Keep It Simple Sister)!

Jill’s story

Ready. Set. Go.

My health journey started as a young female athlete. The pace, the pressures, the demands…mostly from myself.

As much as I treasured being on my teams, being active, and getting to compete, there were REAL challenges to face.

How much were my teammates training? What were they eating after practice? Was I supposed to miss my cycle? Was I too fat? Too skinny? Deep down my fear was that I needed to earn love. And it was exhausting.

But that’s not where we can stay. Our identities are so much more than what we can “do” or “produce.” YOU are more than just your hopes, fears, and worries.

Maybe you have hopes of becoming a mother, but it hasn’t happened yet. Thank you for saying yes to caring for yourself now!

Perhaps, you are in our pregnancy program and want to know how to care for you and baby the best you can. Welcome!

Maybe you’re here feeling all the postpartum realities and they are hitting like a brick wall right now. We will be your cheerleader!

When it comes to our family’s journey to be parents, the road has not been simple. But, it’s been beautiful.

I’ve learned to see family life as an adventure.

We’ve been blessed with a baby awaiting us in Heaven, a biological son, an adopted daughter, and a whole bunch of precious people we love to invest in through spiritual parenthood. We wouldn’t trade this family for anything.

Tracy and I have walked through the difficulties of motherhood too. In these trenches, we’ve learned, grieved, grown, and been challenged to be the women we are called to be.

For those of you who aren’t sure yet what your motherhood will look like, I challenge you now to take care of yourself anyways. There were times (and still times) when I would only focus on getting enough calories or choosing the best workout for health versus vanity to be able to have a baby.

Regardless of if I can conceive another baby, I’m God’s daughter. And He wants me to be healthy. For me, this means scheduling real meal times during a busy day, eating more calories than I feel comfortable with sometimes, and making sure my workouts don’t drain my hormones.

It’s a PROCESS…but despite the uncertainties of conceiving, pregnancy, and parenting, we all deserve to be cared for. Not for what we do or for what we “produce,” but just because we are ourselves!

I love to walk women through this process, it brings me so much joy! Yes, I take care of women physically. We prepare for birth, we heal after delivery, and I help you get back to what you love! But, most of all, I love to be in your corner. A cheerleader for you in your life.

You can DO this! And we will help you get there.

With love,

Jill
